We hope your Holiday and New Year celebrations were joyous!

With 2005 neatly packed away, we are set to ring in the new year with new products, programs and activities. Here are some of the ways we're kicking off 2006:

• New Dressage Saddle Model: With a tree nearly as flat as the Baker, our new prototype dressage saddle adds trot stability for big-moving warmbloods. With several now in stock in the U.S., ask us about a test ride.
• New Leather Option for Saddles: Oiled Memal is soft, grippy, and now available on all custom saddles. Look under 'Featured Products' to the left for more info.
• Fitting Tours and Events: We have a busy travel schedule this year, and may even have the opportunity to meet up with you. Stay abreast of our plans by clicking the map to the left or looking at the event calendar below.
• New Product Lines: Thanks to your suggestions, we've begun to expand our product line. Each new product we add must be good for horses, riders, or saddles, be somewhat unique, and meet our demanding criteria: look great and function optimally! We'll be adding products all year so look for updates.
• New Web Store: Now that we have so many useful products, we're building an online store so you'll have round-the-clock ordering convenience. Of course, you can still call us anytime if you prefer our legendary one-on-one service. Look for the store via our website – it will be live before the end of February.
• RP Travel: When you purchase an RP, it's more than buying a saddle. Some would say you become a member of the RP family. This year we're planning a 'Family Vacation': four days of beach and mountain rides, great food and better company! Led by Lari Shea from her Ricochet Ridge Ranch in Mendocino, CA. We'll keep you posted with details but if you're interested riding with us, contact us today. Space is limited.

Saddle Fitting Savvy

Saddle fit is a mix of art and science. Many horse owners are mystified about how to determine if their horse is comfortable in their saddle. We strongly recommend testing your saddle with tools like the Impression Pad, which are designed to give you data about what is occurring under the saddle while you ride. But even without any tools, there are a number of signs that can help determine whether a saddle fits well. Click here for a saddle fit checklist (requires the Adobe Reader).

RP History

Barry Richardson, the designer of the ReactorPanel Saddle System, was quite an inventor. Rumor has it that he was the one to take the concept of hind leg straps from New Zealand rugs and add them to horse blankets.

An RP Success Story

I've fallen in love with a saddle!!!!

I am trying hard to remain calm and objective, but it is a wonderful thing to be able to ride and feel free and balanced with your horse.

Aslan (my Arabian) and I had several requirements for saddles when I started my trial with ReactorPanel:

1. Shorter saddle for his short back
2. Lateral stability so I felt more stable
3. Fit for the shoulders and freedom of motion
4. Being able to sit in my balance point easily
5. Being able to ride an English saddle on trails and hills
