FITTING AN RP SADDLE ON YOUR OWN HORSE

Fitting and adjusting a ReactorPanel saddle does not require special skills, but it does require patience, a good eye for symmetry, and a basic understanding of equine anatomy. Each saddle is shipped with the tools necessary to adjust the saddle's fit and with our detailed and illustrated User's Guide for step-by-step assistance with saddle fitting and trouble-shooting saddle fit issues.

Many people enjoy the saddle fitting process and appreciate the ability to adjust their own saddle's fit without engaging a flocker or sending the saddle away to be adjusted. If you choose to fit your own saddle, you will probably learn a bit about your horse during the process. However, not everyone finds the saddle fitting process easy and rewarding. In general, the type of person who picks up a screw driver (instead of the telephone) when something breaks is nearly always successful at fitting an RP Saddle. Conversely, the sort of person who loses patience easily or doesn't enjoy doing projects with their hands might not be a good self-saddle fitting candidate.

SADDLE FITTING AGENT SERVICES

If you find you're interested in a saddle but NOT in self-fitting, we may have a saddle fitting agent or distributor near you. Our saddle fitters and distributors are a growing network in the US, Canada, and the UK who are trained and certified to our stringent standards regarding saddle fit and industry knowledge. Saddle fitters travel within a fairly wide area, and most have arrangements with facilities for those wishing to haul in for a saddle fitting.

If you are interested in using a saddle fitter's services, the process begins with ordering a saddle for evaluation from RP Headquarters. At the same time, you will schedule an appointment with your local RP Saddle Fitting Agent. The agent will arrive with a kit of tools for fitting the saddle and will typically take you through the following process:

1. Assessment of your horse
2. Test of your saddle's fit using the Port Lewis Impression Pad
3. Fitting the RP Saddle
4. Guiding you through a test ride

A local fitting is $125 and a refit $75. Increased rates apply for travel outside the saddle fitter's local area.
